I used this glitch effect filter throughout a lot of my film to distinguish the different perspectives the camera takes on. Footage shown without the filter presents the image most films represent of being the third person perspective watching in on what is happening, while footage with the camera filter over it represents footage that is framed this way to persevere as footage my main character Oscar has gathered himself on his camera within the film itself. I did this as my film explores the role of a want-to-be detective investigating his small-town trouble, documenting and interviewing as he goes along. I can then through editing the film make it seem as if his footage has been corrupted and interfered with to represent the monster he is hunting taking over and using him. I think this effect significantly impacts my final film as it adds to the plot in an integral way by providing clearance to what type of footage the audience is viewing.
