Evidence of Editing (Creating Pace)

This image shows the way I used cuts and shot length in setting up the pace I wanted to create in each scene. As the first half is third person establishing footage of my character, the setting and what it is he is doing, so giving this a quick pace with several scenes lets the audience watch the scene unfold and explain to them what is happening at a quicker pace to keep them engaged, while my character speech after this scene is used as an interaction with the character himself, so leaving this uncut provides a seamless, slower more intermate interaction between character and audience. This use of pace has quite the impact on my production as it gives the film the flow it needs in order to achieve my idea of this scene as shown in my storyboard while keeping my audience engaged at the right parts.
